There is so much waste in urban areas; dark abandon corners and alleys, car exhaust, plastic bags, rotten food, BIG Gup cups, outdated electronics, the list goes on. Wasted space as well wasted material. The city is an environment that is vastly out of balance. In healthy functioning ecosystems waste is non- existent.  One's waste is another's food. The VIA-DUCT is a structure that takes air pollutants and filters it into clean air. It sits between busy multi-lane highways and roads in the lively core of Denver. It not only utilizes wasted space but takes the wasted pollutants from the cars around it and turns it into clean air. It plays an positive and active role it it's environment. Like an oyster it feeds off the bottom of the polluted city, yet holds a pearl with in:
